The Washington County general election official results are in.
The results were certified and made official on Wednesday. Candidates who may want to contest and or request for ballot box examinations have 20 days after certification day to do so.
So far, there have been two candidates who have requested for ballot box examinations and two candidates who have written complaints to the Democratic Executive Committee.
Tonya Franklin, Democrat, who ran for District 1 Justice Court Judge, and Eric Hawkins, Democrat, who ran for County Attorney, both requested ballot box examinations. D’Andre Williams and Sherman Harris, who both ran for District 4 Supervisor and both Democrats, wrote complaints to the Democratic Executive Committee for voting irregularities and concerns.
There will be a run-off election for three Democratic positions and two Republican positions on Aug. 27 in all 19 precincts.
For the Democratic Party
Central PSC District runoff will be between Dorothy Benford and De’Keither Stamps.
District Senate 22 runoff will be between Ruffin Smith and Joseph C. Thomas Sr..
Supervisor District 4 runoff will be between Mala Brooks and Charles Patterson.
For the Republican Party
Governor runoff will be between Tate Reeves and Bill Waller Jr.
Attorney General runoff will be between Lynn Fitch and Andy Taggart.
In Washington County Democratic Parties
Chancery Clerk:
Incumbent Marilyn Hansell won with 5,669 votes.
Circuit Clerk:
Incumbent Barbara Esters-Parker won with 5,913 votes.
Coroner:
Incumbent Methel Johnson won with 3,500 or 56.59% votes over T. Leon Redmon with 2,683 or 43.38% votes.
County Attorney:
Incumbent Willie Griffin won with 3,407 or 57.17% votes over Eric Charles Hawkins with 2,548 or 42.76% votes.
Sheriff:
Incumbent Milton Gaston Sr. won with 5,288 or 84.02% votes over Brian K. Payne with 304 or 4.83% votes and Kenneth Redfield with 661 or 10.50% votes.
Tax Assessor:
Incumbent Mark Seard won with 5,832 votes.
Tax Collector:
Incumbent Patricia Ann Lee won with 5,843 votes.
Supervisor District 1:
Mark Crawford won with 711 or 74.76% votes over David Morgan with 238 or 25.03%.
Supervisor District 2:
Incumbent Tommy Benson III won with 856 or 68.98% votes over Jacqueline McCoy with 237 or 19.10% votes and D. Redmond Wiliams with 142 or 11.44% votes.
Supervisor District 3:
Incumbent Carl McGee won with 776 or 60.48% votes over Troy Wesley with 507 or 39.52% votes.
Supervisor District 4:
Mala U Brooks won with 676 or 42.28% votes over Sherman Harris with 173 or 10.82% votes, Charles Patterson with 270 or 16.89% votes, Benjamin Thompson with 207 or 12.95% and D’Andre Williams with 268 or 16.76% votes.
Supervisor District 5:
Incumbent Jerry Redmond was unopposed and won with 1,055 votes.
Justice Court Judge 1:
Incumbent Laverne Holmes Carter won with 1,063 or 62.08% votes over Tonya Powell Franklin with 519 or 32.79% votes.
Justice Court Judge 3:
Incumbent Cedric Bush won with 1,408 or 62.08% votes over Ashey N. Harris with 859 or 37.87% votes.
Constable District 1:
Nathaniel Watkins Jr. won with 1,444 votes.
Constable District 2:
Malcoum Kent won with 2,138 votes.
Constable District 3:
Lester ‘Bo’ Walker won with 2,000 votes.
District Attorney 04:
Dewayne Richardson was unopposed with 5,465 or 99.76% votes.
In Washington County Republican Parties:
Tony Franks won with 167 or 99.40% votes.
In state Democratic Parties:
District Senate 12:
Derrick T. Simmons was unopposed with 4,654 or 99.72% votes.
District Senate 22:
Mark S. Buckner Sr. won with 403 or 36.21% votes over Ermea ‘EJ’ Russell with 265 or 23.81%, Ruffin Smith with 206 or 18.51%, Joseph C. Thomas Sr. with 161 or 14.47% votes and Colton Thornton with 77 or 6.92% votes.
District Rep. 31:
Otis L. Anthony won with 500 or 58.07% over Knighten-Washington with 360 or 41.81% votes.
District Rep. 49:
Willie L. Bailey was unopposed with 2,288 votes.
District Rep. 50:
Incumbent John W. Hines Sr. won with 1,965 or 73.29% votes over Earth L. Robinson with 716 or 26.71% votes.
There were no local contested Republican Primaries.
