Events, curfews for Halloween this year in Washington County

Halloween is just a mere few days away and local municipalities are preparing to observe the holiday with kiddos and of course, safety, in mind.
Halloween will be observed by the City of Greenville between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday and is encouraging citizens to do so as well.

GFD’s 8th annual Fire & Life Festival set for Saturday

The 8th annual Greenville Fire Department Fire & Life Safety Festival is set for 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at Schelben Park.
Admission to the event is free.
Some of the highlights of the festival include a kids combat challenge, jaws of life demonstration, a cheer competition, safety vendors, food and drinks and more.

‘Think Pink’ Breast Cancer Awareness event taking place Saturday

A “Think Pink” Breast Cancer Awareness event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Schelben Park on the levee.
COVID-19 vaccinations will be administered, face masks and hand sanitizer will be distributed and water and snacks will be provided, courtesy of Delta Health System during the event.

City council votes to pay for installation of speed bumps along Adams Drive
