Greenville High's Bethany Stanford and Jacey Thomas finish first and second in the North State Shot Put

Greenville High students Bethany Stanford and Jacey Thomas finished first and second in the shot put at the MHSAA 5A North State State Championship last week.

Stanford finished in first place with a throw of 97-feet and 11 inches. Thomas finished in second with a throw of 95-feet 5 inches.

Riverside relay team headed to state

Because of their high finish at North State, the Riverside 4X100 Relay team qualified for the MHSAA Class 2A Track Meet. The relay members are Kayla Carlisle, Qu'Niya Jackson, Allanah Turner and Kamaya Evans.

Greenville High School’s David Newsome (pictured here at the regional meet) has been named the Planters Bank Player of the Week after he qualified for the state track meet after finishing second on the 110 Meter Hurdles and second in the 300 Meter Hurdles at the MHSAA 5A North State Championship at Pontotoc High School.

O'Bannon's Jordan McCullum named Planters Bank Player of the Week

O’Bannon runner Jordan McCullum (pictured in front) has been named the Planters Bank Player of the Week.

McCullum had four first place finishes in the 3200, 1600, 800 and the 4X800.

McCullum is pictured with Perez Crutchfield, and Jarketitus David in race at the Class 2A Super Regional track Meet.
